The United Nations has approved a resolution supporting a map that accurately depicts Africa's true size, countering the distortions of the 16th-century Mercator map. This initiative, led by Togo, aims to promote the use of the Equal Earth map in schools across Africa. The West African nation plans to implement this new map by year-end.
