BBC World · world
Uganda has imposed a mandatory 21-day quarantine for all citizens returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo to prevent the spread of Ebola. This measure follows concerns after two individuals who transited through Uganda tested positive for the virus in Kenya and Nigeria. The health ministry stated that travellers from DR Congo will not be allowed to transit through Uganda. Essential travellers will be permitted entry but subjected to intense public health measures. Uganda has also intensified traveller screening at its international airport and land borders.
