New Zealand Plans Finn Allen Middle Order Role Against India

Times of India · sports

New Zealand's head coach Rob Walter intends to experiment with explosive batter Finn Allen in a new middle-order role during the upcoming ODI series against India. This strategic shift aims to leverage Allen's game-changing capabilities to attack spinners and part-time bowlers in the middle overs, particularly between overs 25 and 40. The team is also managing fast-bowling workloads, with Will O'Rourke and Ben Sears recovering from injuries, and Lockie Ferguson on a limited-overs plan. These matches will serve as crucial preparation for future international assignments.
