Mosquito Spraying Causes Widespread Insect Resistance

Times of India - India · india

Mosquito spraying is proving ineffective as 84% of insects develop resistance, according to new research. Genetic markers for this resistance are now common in many residential areas, particularly in wealthier neighborhoods with frequent spraying. The overuse of chemicals is diminishing insecticide effectiveness over time. Experts suggest integrated pest management as a more sustainable approach to controlling mosquito populations and mitigating this growing problem.
