Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Frank Strada will step down later this month following the failed execution of Christa Pike. Governor Bill Lee announced the resignation, calling it necessary after the "stunning failure" of the execution attempt. Pike survived two injections of the drug pentobarbital after IV lines reportedly malfunctioned, leading to her being hospitalized.
