Bengaluru police have arrested three individuals, including a 40-year-old man named Manish, for staging his own abduction. Manish allegedly conspired with two friends to demand a ransom of ₹90 lakh from his 62-year-old businessman father. He informed his parents he was traveling to Gadag but instead hid in Belur, Hassan district. Manish then contacted his father via WhatsApp, claiming he was kidnapped, and his friends followed up to demand the money. Police traced and apprehended the trio using technical leads.

बेंगलुरु पुलिस ने मनीष नाम के 40 वर्षीय व्यक्ति सहित तीन लोगों को उसके खुद के अपहरण का नाटक रचने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है। मनीष पर कथित तौर पर अपने दो दोस्तों के साथ मिलकर अपने 62 वर्षीय व्यापारी पिता से ₹90 लाख की फिरौती मांगने की साजिश रचने का आरोप है। उसने अपने माता-पिता को बताया था कि वह गदग जा रहा है, लेकिन इसके बजाय वह हसन जिले के बेलूर में छिप गया। मनीष ने बाद में व्हाट्सएप के जरिए अपने पिता से संपर्क किया और दावा किया कि उसका अपहरण कर लिया गया है, और उसके दोस्तों ने पैसे की मांग की। पुलिस ने तकनीकी सुरागों का इस्तेमाल कर तीनों को पकड़ा।
