BWSSB to Install IoT in 6,000 More Borewells

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) plans to install Internet of Things (IoT) devices in 6,000 more borewells by March 2027. This initiative aims to enhance the monitoring of water depth, extraction levels, and pump sets. Phase I already saw devices installed in 1,800 of the Board's 16,000 borewells. BWSSB Chairperson N. Manjula stated that this will make borewell management more scientific and data-driven, preventing equipment damage and reducing expenditure.

बैंगलोर वाटर सप्लाई एंड सीवरेज बोर्ड (BWSSB) मार्च 2027 तक 6,000 और बोरवेल में इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स (IoT) डिवाइस लगाने की योजना बना रहा है। इस पहल का मकसद पानी की गहराई, निकासी के स्तर और पंप सेट की निगरानी को बेहतर बनाना है। पहले चरण में बोर्ड के 16,000 बोरवेल में से 1,800 में डिवाइस लगाए जा चुके हैं। BWSSB की चेयरपर्सन N. Manjula ने कहा कि इससे बोरवेल प्रबंधन ज़्यादा वैज्ञानिक और डेटा-संचालित होगा, जिससे उपकरण खराब होने से बचेंगे और खर्च कम होगा।
