Times of India · environment

An eight-month-old Royal Bengal Tiger cub rescued in Mayurbhanj district is awaiting transfer to Similipal Tiger Reserve due to ongoing health monitoring. Veterinarians are conducting crucial tests and awaiting results before approving its relocation from its current enclosure in Thakurmunda. Officials stated the cub's health is the top priority, and it is being regularly fed and showing signs of calmness. The cub was found alone in a cattle shed and is suspected to have been without food for days, making its recovery and health assessment paramount before rehabilitation.
