Ladakh Administration Announces ₹15 Lakh Relief For Protest

The Ladakh Administration has announced a compensation of ₹15 lakh for the next of kin of each of the four civilians killed during the Leh street protests last year. An ex-gratia of ₹3 lakh will be given for major injuries and ₹1 lakh for minor injuries. This announcement follows fresh talks between the Centre and civil society groups in Ladakh, who had demanded compensation for the deceased.

लद्दाख प्रशासन ने पिछले साल लेह में हुए विरोध प्रदर्शनों में मारे गए चार नागरिकों के परिवारों को ₹15 लाख का मुआवज़ा देने का ऐलान किया है। गंभीर चोट लगने पर ₹3 लाख और मामूली चोट लगने पर ₹1 लाख की आर्थिक सहायता दी जाएगी। यह फैसला केंद्र और लद्दाख के नागरिक समूहों के बीच हुई ताज़ा बातचीत के बाद आया है, जिन्होंने मृतकों के लिए मुआवज़े की मांग की थी।
