PSPCL Halts Power Disconnections Due to Inflated Bills

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has ordered a halt to power disconnections for domestic consumers facing incorrect or inflated electricity bills. This directive is in effect until the new Smart Billing System stabilizes and resolves billing errors. The move comes after numerous complaints from consumers who received bills not reflecting their actual usage, leading to potential disconnection. PSPCL stated that consumers should not face disconnection due to system-generated outstanding dues that do not match their consumption.

पंजाब स्टेट पावर कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (PSPCL) ने घरेलू उपभोक्ताओं के लिए गलत या बढ़े हुए बिजली बिलों के कारण बिजली काटना बंद करने का आदेश दिया है। यह निर्देश तब तक प्रभावी रहेगा जब तक नया स्मार्ट बिलिंग सिस्टम स्थिर नहीं हो जाता और बिलिंग की गलतियों को ठीक नहीं कर लेता। यह कदम उपभोक्ताओं की कई शिकायतों के बाद उठाया गया है, जिन्हें ऐसे बिल मिले थे जो उनके वास्तविक उपयोग को नहीं दर्शाते थे, जिससे संभावित रूप से बिजली काटी जा सकती थी। PSPCL ने कहा कि उपभोक्ताओं को सिस्टम-जनित बकाया राशियों के कारण बिजली नहीं कटनी चाहिए जो उनके उपभोग से मेल नहीं खातीं।
