Germany's development aid budget is set to shrink for the fifth consecutive year, falling from over €10 billion to under €9.5 billion. This marks a reduction of roughly one-third since 2022, when the budget was nearly €14 billion. Aid organizations warn these cuts will severely impact millions facing hunger and the escalating climate crisis. The government states development policy is a key pillar of security, but NGOs express deep concern over the funding decline.
