Scientists Boost Stevia Sweetness By 36% Using Silver Nanoparticles
Times of India · science
Scientists from Bihar have discovered a method to increase the sweetness of stevia plants, commonly used for sugar substitutes. A 15-day lab experiment showed that leaves from plants treated with tiny silver particles produced approximately 36% more key sweetening compounds compared to untreated plants. The optimal dose of 25 milligrams of particles per litre also resulted in longer shoots and more leaves, though higher doses inhibited growth.
