Contractor, Supervisor Booked After Worker Dies From Falling Plank

Verna police have filed an FIR against a construction contractor and supervisor for allegedly failing to provide safety gear to workers. A labourer, Huchhappa Sonakappa, died after a wooden plank fell on his head while he was working at an under-construction building near MES College, Zuarinagar. The plank reportedly slipped due to vibrations from a construction lift. Police stated the accused, Santosh Hiremath and Ajay Kumar Ray, were negligent in not providing essential safety equipment like helmets and harnesses.

वर्ना पुलिस ने मजदूरों को सुरक्षा उपकरण न देने के आरोप में एक निर्माण ठेकेदार और सुपरवाइजर के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की है। जुआरिनगर में एमईएस कॉलेज के पास एक निर्माणाधीन इमारत में काम करते समय लकड़ी का एक तख्ता सिर पर गिरने से मजदूर हुछप्पा सोनाकप्पा की मौत हो गई। बताया गया है कि निर्माण लिफ्ट से हुए कंपन के कारण तख्ता फिसल गया था। पुलिस ने कहा कि आरोपी संतोष हिरेमठ और अजय कुमार राय ने हेलमेट और हार्नेस जैसे आवश्यक सुरक्षा उपकरण न देकर लापरवाही बरती।
