SFI Alleges Reservation Violations in JNU PhD Admissions, Seeks Correction

The Students' Federation of India has alleged discrepancies in Jawaharlal Nehru University's implementation of reservation norms for PhD admissions in the 2026-27 academic year. SFI claims the university's prospectus did not allocate the prescribed seats for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and persons with benchmark disabilities candidates. The National Commissions for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have reportedly taken cognisance of SFI's complaint. SFI demands immediate rectification, including a special drive for backlog seats or stalling the admission process until corrections are made.

स्टूडेंट्स फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (एसएफआई) ने जवाहरलाल नेहरू यूनिवर्सिटी (जेएनयू) में 2026-27 शैक्षणिक वर्ष के लिए पीएचडी प्रवेश में आरक्षण नियमों के क्रियान्वयन में विसंगतियों का आरोप लगाया है। एसएफआई का दावा है कि विश्वविद्यालय की प्रॉस्पेक्टस में अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति और बेंचमार्क विकलांगता वाले उम्मीदवारों के लिए निर्धारित सीटें आवंटित नहीं की गई हैं। राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग और राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जनजाति आयोग ने कथित तौर पर एसएफआई की शिकायत पर संज्ञान लिया है। एसएफआई तत्काल सुधार की मांग कर रहा है, जिसमें बैकलॉग सीटों के लिए एक विशेष ड्राइव चलाना या सुधार होने तक प्रवेश प्रक्रिया को रोकना शामिल है।
