Veteran fast bowler James Anderson's professional cricket career has concluded after Lancashire County Cricket Club decided not to offer him a new contract for the 2027 season. Despite his exceptional fitness and performance, including taking 50 wickets in the previous county season, the club's new leadership cited that his time at Lancashire was over. Anderson, who holds the record for most Test wickets by a fast bowler with 704, had a distinguished career spanning over two decades. He had also expressed interest in captaining Lancashire for the upcoming season.
