Ethiopia Accuses Sudan, Egypt of Backing Rebels

Ethiopia's army commander has accused Sudan and Egypt of supporting armed groups fighting its troops amid renewed clashes with the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF). Field Marshal Birhanu Jula stated these forces are allied with external powers and cannot succeed without their backing. Sudan's military denied the allegations, calling them baseless, and counterclaimed that the RSF receives support from within Ethiopia. Fighting resumed last week, raising fears of a return to the devastating 2020-2022 civil war.
