The Hindu · india
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has accused the central government of treating the state's drug crisis as a political opportunity. He stated that while the AAP government is taking stringent action against traffickers, the Centre is failing to dismantle drug supply chains operating beyond Punjab's borders. Cheema highlighted the central government's inaction against synthetic drug manufacturers in BJP and Congress-ruled states, despite repeated appeals. He asserted that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will continue its fight against drugs with full force, undeterred by political considerations.
