Biocon's Q2 Profit Halves to ₹41 Crore Due to Delayed Shipments

Business Standard · business

Biopharmaceutical major Biocon reported a 52 per cent year-on-year drop in consolidated net profit to ₹41 crore for the second quarter of FY27. This decline was primarily due to approximately $20 million worth of shipments missing the quarter-end cut-off, while their associated costs were already accounted for. Revenue from operations saw a modest 2 per cent increase, reaching ₹4,389 crore. Managing Director Shreehas Tambe clarified this as a revenue recognition issue, with the delayed products expected to contribute to Q3 earnings.
