France Faces Protests Over Education, Cost of Living
Al Jazeera · world
Young people across France are protesting nationwide, demanding better education facilities and a future amid rising living costs. Nationwide, 410,000 people protested on Saturday, including 110,000 in Paris, as the government struggles to address student concerns. Protests began in mid-September due to deteriorating school conditions, overcrowded classrooms, and dilapidated infrastructure. Teachers have also joined, citing low salaries compared to European counterparts and concerns over budget cuts and civil servant salary freezes.
