State Facing Severe Power Cuts, Says PMK Chief

PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss stated that despite government claims of purchasing 2000 MW of power, no progress has been made to alleviate the ongoing power cuts across Tamil Nadu. He cited an incident where a minister used a mobile torch during an interview due to a sudden outage, highlighting the severity. Ramadoss noted that the state's power demand remains high at 20,500 MW–21,000 MW, significantly more than last year, due to unseasonably warm temperatures.

पीएमके अध्यक्ष अंबुमणि रामदास ने कहा कि सरकार 2000 मेगावाट बिजली खरीदने का दावा कर रही है, लेकिन तमिलनाडु में बिजली कटौती को कम करने के लिए कोई प्रगति नहीं हुई है। उन्होंने एक मंत्री का उदाहरण दिया जो अचानक बिजली जाने से एक इंटरव्यू के दौरान मोबाइल टॉर्च का इस्तेमाल कर रहे थे। रामदास ने बताया कि राज्य की बिजली की मांग 20,500-21,000 मेगावाट है, जो पिछले साल से काफी ज्यादा है।
