Heavy rainfall in Nepal has caused the Gandak River to swell, leading to increased discharge from the Valmikinagar barrage. Floodwaters have inundated several low-lying areas in West Champaran, Bihar, and have entered the Valmiki Tiger Reserve. This inundation raises concerns for wildlife, particularly herbivores, and the potential for animals to move towards human settlements. The district administration has deployed NDRF and SDRF teams for relief and rescue operations, with community kitchens and medical teams also on alert.

गंडक नदी का पानी वाल्मीकि टाइगर रिजर्व में घुसा

नेपाल में भारी बारिश के कारण गंडक नदी उफान पर है, जिससे वाल्मीकिनगर बैराज से पानी छोड़ा गया है। बाढ़ के पानी ने बिहार के पश्चिम चंपारण के कई निचले इलाकों को डुबो दिया है और यह वाल्मीकि टाइगर रिजर्व में भी घुस गया है। इससे वन्यजीवों, खासकर शाकाहारी जानवरों के लिए चिंता बढ़ गई है और उनके इंसानी बस्तियों की ओर जाने की आशंका है। जिला प्रशासन ने राहत और बचाव कार्यों के लिए NDRF और SDRF की टीमों को तैनात कर दिया है, साथ ही सामुदायिक रसोई और मेडिकल टीमों को भी अलर्ट पर रखा गया है।
