CJI Surya Kant Intervenes, Secures Release of Detained Lawyers

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's verbal intervention led to the release of lawyers detained during protests near the Supreme Court on Saturday. The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) had sought the CJI's urgent intervention following allegations of excessive police force against advocates. The CJI, who was out of town, spoke to authorities, resulting in the lawyers' release. SCBA president Pradeep Rai expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, confirming the release and noting assurances from police that any detained individuals would be freed upon identification.

चीफ जस्टिस ऑफ इंडिया सूर्यकांत के मौखिक हस्तक्षेप से शनिवार को सुप्रीम कोर्ट के पास विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान हिरासत में लिए गए वकीलों की रिहाई संभव हुई। सुप्रीम कोर्ट बार एसोसिएशन (SCBA) ने वकीलों के खिलाफ पुलिस की अत्यधिक बल प्रयोग की शिकायतों के बाद सीजेआई से तत्काल हस्तक्षेप की मांग की थी। सीजेआई, जो शहर से बाहर थे, ने अधिकारियों से बात की, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप वकीलों को रिहा कर दिया गया। SCBA के अध्यक्ष प्रदीप राय ने समय पर हस्तक्षेप के लिए आभार व्यक्त किया, रिहाई की पुष्टि की और पुलिस से आश्वासन मिलने की बात कही कि हिरासत में लिए गए किसी भी व्यक्ति की पहचान होने पर उसे छोड़ दिया जाएगा।
