Aavin Madurai has significantly increased its daily milk supply to two lakh litres, responding to rising consumer demand as private dairies hike prices. The cooperative achieved this by improving procurement policies and implementing digital monitoring to prevent hoarding and leakages. Officials identified hoarding at Aavin's own licensed retail depots as a major issue, where some salesmen withheld milk packets to sell private brands. Aavin is now taking steps like reducing supplies to violating outlets and planning packaging changes to discourage hoarding and diversion to hotels and tea shops.
