Crude Oil Prices Key To FII Return To Indian Markets: Equirus AMC

Economic Times Markets · stocks

Foreign institutional investors may only return to Indian equities if crude oil prices decline, according to Ashutosh Tiwari of Equirus Asset Management. Rising oil prices have driven renewed FII selling and are the primary obstacle to a market re-rating, despite corrected valuations and expected earnings growth. A sustained drop in crude is the most crucial trigger for FII money to return, as other factors like attractive valuations and improving nominal GDP growth are already supportive. If oil prices moderate, India could become significantly more appealing to global investors.
