DVAC Registers Case Against Four Former Health Officials For ₹1.59 Crore Loss

DVAC has filed a case against four former officials of the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services (ESI) in Chennai. The officials are accused of irregularities in medicine procurement between 2013 and 2015, causing a loss of ₹1.59 crore to the exchequer. An inquiry revealed medicines were purchased at inflated prices and without following proper procedures. The case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, following a preliminary inquiry.
