Odisha's food safety enforcement drive has collected nearly Rs 96 lakh in penalties over the past two years. Health minister Mukesh Mahaling informed the assembly that authorities filed 431 cases and destroyed around 428 quintals of adulterated food. Berhampur district recorded the highest penalties at Rs 23.36 lakh. This statewide initiative aims to curb food adulteration and ensure safer food for consumers across the state. The drive involved extensive inspections and sample collections to identify and penalize violations.

ओडिशा के खाद्य सुरक्षा प्रवर्तन अभियान ने पिछले दो सालों में लगभग 96 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना वसूला है। स्वास्थ्य मंत्री मुकेश महालिंग ने विधानसभा को सूचित किया कि अधिकारियों ने 431 मामले दर्ज किए और लगभग 428 क्विंटल मिलावटी भोजन नष्ट किया। बेरहमपुर जिले में सबसे अधिक 23.36 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना दर्ज किया गया। इस राज्यव्यापी पहल का उद्देश्य खाद्य मिलावट को रोकना और राज्य भर के उपभोक्ताओं के लिए सुरक्षित भोजन सुनिश्चित करना है। इस अभियान में उल्लंघनों की पहचान करने और दंडित करने के लिए व्यापक निरीक्षण और नमूना संग्रह शामिल था।
