Accused Flees Court Premises After Handcuffs Removed, Caught Within 15 Minutes

A man accused of attempting to kill his mother escaped from police custody while being produced before a magistrate court in Nedumkandam, Idukki on Saturday morning. The accused, Bala Murukan, asked police to remove his handcuffs to drink water, and then fled. Police immediately launched a search and apprehended him within 15 minutes. Murukan was arrested on Friday for allegedly assaulting and attempting to murder his mother. The swift police action prevented a prolonged escape.

शनिवार सुबह इडुक्की के नेदुमकांडम में मजिस्ट्रेट कोर्ट में पेशी के दौरान मां की हत्या की कोशिश के आरोपी ने पुलिस हिरासत से भागने की कोशिश की। आरोपी बाला मुरुगन ने पानी पीने के लिए हथकड़ी हटाने को कहा और फिर भाग गया। पुलिस ने तुरंत तलाशी अभियान चलाया और 15 मिनट के भीतर उसे पकड़ लिया। मुरुगन को शुक्रवार को अपनी मां पर हमला करने और हत्या की कोशिश के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई ने लंबी भागदौड़ को रोका।
