Tangedco Foreman Arrested Near Ambur For Accepting Bribe

A 52-year-old Tangedco foreman, K. Sivakumar, was arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) near Ambur in Tirupattur district. He was allegedly demanding ₹50,000 to provide a new electricity connection to a resident's house, initially asking for ₹10,000 to start the process. The complainant, Mohammed Irfan, had already paid the deposit and other charges of ₹27,000 for the connection. After the foreman demanded the bribe, Irfan lodged a complaint with the DVAC, leading to Sivakumar's arrest. A further investigation is ongoing.
