The Electricity Employees’ Federation of India (EEFI) has expressed concern over delays in issuing a work order for Phase II of smart meter installation in Kerala. The Left-backed organization has written to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, noting that financial bids were opened on September 5. Further delays risk Kerala losing Central grants under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme and opportunities for additional borrowing space.

इलेक्ट्रिसिटी एम्प्लॉइज फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (EEFI) ने केरल में स्मार्ट मीटर लगाने के फेज II के लिए कार्य आदेश जारी करने में हो रही देरी पर चिंता जताई है। लेफ्ट-समर्थित संगठन ने मुख्यमंत्री V.D. Satheesan को लिखा है, जिसमें कहा गया है कि वित्तीय बोलियां 5 सितंबर को खोली गई थीं। आगे की देरी से केरल को Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme के तहत केंद्रीय अनुदान और अतिरिक्त उधार लेने की जगह गंवाने का खतरा है।
