The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is facing criticism from its employees' union over delays in repairing the Pampa-Chalakkayam road leading to the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple. The union accused the TDB of missing an opportunity to prevent traffic chaos during the monthly puja season. They stated the Public Works department was ready to repair the 4.5-km stretch if handed over, a move that would have saved the board funds. The union demanded an explanation, highlighting that repairs could have been completed before the current season began, avoiding pilgrim stranding.

सबरीमाला अयप्पा मंदिर की ओर जाने वाली पम्पा-चलाकायम सड़क की मरम्मत में देरी को लेकर त्रावणकोर देवस्वम बोर्ड (TDB) को उसके कर्मचारी संघ की आलोचना का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। संघ ने मासिक पूजा सत्र के दौरान यातायात अराजकता को रोकने का अवसर चूकने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि यदि सार्वजनिक निर्माण विभाग को काम सौंपा जाता तो वे 4.5 किमी सड़क की मरम्मत के लिए तैयार थे, जिससे बोर्ड के पैसे बच जाते। संघ ने स्पष्टीकरण मांगा और इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि वर्तमान सत्र शुरू होने से पहले मरम्मत पूरी की जा सकती थी, जिससे तीर्थयात्रियों को परेशानी नहीं होती।
