FSSAI Acts Against Radisson Blu Hotel, E-commerce Platforms For Food Safety Lapses

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has initiated action against Radisson Blu Hotel, three food businesses, and two e-commerce platforms for non-compliance with food safety standards and misleading claims. The regulator issued an improvement notice to Radisson Blu Hotel for poor maintenance, inadequate cleaning, and pest control issues. FSSAI also flagged deficiencies in food procurement and handling practices. Additionally, notices were sent to Gemini Edibles and Fats India Limited, BigBasket, and Flipkart over unsubstantiated health claims made for 'Freedom Cooking Rice Bran Oil'.

भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा और मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI) ने खाद्य सुरक्षा मानकों का पालन न करने और भ्रामक दावों के लिए रेडिसन ब्लू होटल, तीन खाद्य व्यवसायों और दो ई-कॉमर्स प्लेटफॉर्म के खिलाफ कार्रवाई शुरू की है। नियामक ने रेडिसन ब्लू होटल को खराब रखरखाव, अपर्याप्त सफाई और कीट नियंत्रण की समस्याओं के लिए सुधार नोटिस जारी किया। FSSAI ने खाद्य खरीद और हैंडलिंग प्रथाओं में भी कमियां पाईं। इसके अलावा, 'फ्रीडम कुकिंग राइस ब्रान ऑयल' के लिए अप्रमाणित स्वास्थ्य दावों को लेकर जेमिनी एडिबल्स एंड फैट्स इंडिया लिमिटेड, बिगबास्केट और फ्लिपकार्ट को भी नोटिस भेजे गए।
