Retired Judge to Head SIT Investigating Kolkata Durga Puja Stampede

The West Bengal government has formed a six-member SIT to probe the stampede near the Chorbagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata. Headed by retired Calcutta High Court judge Justice Anindita Roy Saraswati, the SIT will investigate the causes of the stampede, establish accountability, and submit its report within three months. The inquiry will examine crowd management, infrastructure, emergency exits, and the response of organizers and authorities.

कोलकाता दुर्गा पूजा भगदड़ की जांच के लिए सेवानिवृत्त जज एसआईटी का नेतृत्व करेंगे

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने कोलकाता में चोरবাগান সর্বজনীন दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल के पास हुई भगदड़ की जांच के लिए छह सदस्यीय एसआईटी का गठन किया है। कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय की सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश जस्टिस अनিন্দिता रॉय सरस्वती की अध्यक्षता में एसआईटी भगदड़ के कारणों की जांच करेगी, जवाबदेही तय करेगी और तीन महीने के भीतर अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपेगी। जांच में भीड़ प्रबंधन, बुनियादी ढांचे, आपातकालीन निकास और आयोजकों व अधिकारियों की प्रतिक्रिया की जांच की जाएगी।
