Ujjain Police Fire Tear Gas At Mosque Protest

Police in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, fired tear gas on Monday at Muslim residents protesting the proposed demolition of a mosque section. Stones were thrown at police during the clashes. The administration plans to demolish part of the Shahi Masjid to widen a road for the Simhastha religious gathering in March 2028. A sit-in protest against the demolition proposal began on Sunday at the mosque.
