Madras HC Refuses CBI Probe in Veeramani Sexual Assault Case, Asks to Trust SIT

The Madras High Court has refused to transfer the sexual assault case against granite baron R Veeramani to the CBI. The court stated that the Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed just four days prior, should be given adequate time to investigate. Justice V Lakshminarayanan emphasized that the SIT has already begun its work and premature transfer would be improper. The case involves allegations of rape of minor girls, with Veeramani and two aides arrested after police received video evidence.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने ग्रेनाइट कारोबारी आर. वीरमणि के खिलाफ यौन उत्पीड़न के मामले को CBI को ट्रांसफर करने से इनकार कर दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि चार दिन पहले बनी स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम (SIT) को जांच के लिए पर्याप्त समय दिया जाना चाहिए। जस्टिस वी. लक्ष्मीनारायणन ने जोर देकर कहा कि SIT ने पहले ही अपना काम शुरू कर दिया है और समय से पहले ट्रांसफर करना अनुचित होगा। इस मामले में नाबालिग लड़कियों से बलात्कार के आरोप शामिल हैं, जिसमें पुलिस को वीडियो सबूत मिलने के बाद वीरमणि और दो सहयोगियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया था।
