RSS Leader, Minister Condemn Attacks on Left Parties' Book Stalls

A senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader and a West Bengal Minister have publicly criticized attacks on book stalls set up by Left parties near Durga Puja pandals. RSS leader Jishnu Basu stated that vandalizing book stalls is cowardly and those involved do not understand the country. West Bengal Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta also expressed his disapproval of the hooliganism surrounding these stalls, which he has observed for decades. Left parties allege these incidents are an attack on free thinking and have vowed to protest by setting up more stalls.

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ (RSS) के एक वरिष्ठ नेता और पश्चिम बंगाल के एक मंत्री ने दुर्गा पूजा पंडालों के पास वाम दलों द्वारा लगाए गए पुस्तक स्टॉलों पर हुए हमलों की सार्वजनिक रूप से आलोचना की है। आरएसएस नेता जिष्णु बसु ने कहा कि पुस्तक स्टॉलों में तोड़फोड़ करना कायरतापूर्ण है और इसमें शामिल लोग देश को नहीं समझते। पश्चिम बंगाल के वित्त मंत्री स्वपन दासगुप्ता ने भी इन स्टॉलों के आसपास की दादागिरी पर अपनी नाराजगी जताई, जिसे उन्होंने दशकों से देखा है। वाम दलों का आरोप है कि ये घटनाएं स्वतंत्र सोच पर हमला हैं और उन्होंने और अधिक स्टॉल लगाकर विरोध करने की कसम खाई है।
