Andhra Pradesh Govt Forms Committee To Check Tree Translocation

The Andhra Pradesh government has informed the High Court that it is taking all measures for the translocation of trees affected by state-funded development projects. A Public Interest Litigation was filed by a medical student seeking government action to translocate trees impacted by construction and power line projects. The government has constituted a Tree Protection Advisory Committee to examine alternatives like translocation and has issued guidelines to all departments. A toll-free number is also being established for public complaints regarding tree felling.

आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने हाई कोर्ट को सूचित किया है कि वह राज्य-वित्त पोषित विकास परियोजनाओं से प्रभावित पेड़ों के स्थानांतरण के लिए सभी उपाय कर रही है। एक मेडिकल छात्र ने निर्माण और बिजली लाइन परियोजनाओं से प्रभावित पेड़ों के स्थानांतरण के लिए सरकारी कार्रवाई की मांग करते हुए एक जनहित याचिका दायर की थी। सरकार ने स्थानांतरण जैसे विकल्पों की जांच के लिए एक ट्री प्रोटेक्शन एडवाइजरी कमेटी का गठन किया है और सभी विभागों को दिशानिर्देश जारी किए हैं। पेड़ कटाई के संबंध में जनता की शिकायतों के लिए एक टोल-फ्री नंबर भी स्थापित किया जा रहा है।
