Two Best Friends Drown in Ganga; Families Perform Funeral Rites With Effigies

Two close friends, 20-year-old Ankit Kumar and 19-year-old Shivam Kumar, drowned in the strong currents of the Ganga River at Simaria Bhola Ghat in Begusarai, Bihar. After seven days of fruitless searching, their families, unable to recover their bodies, created effigies from Kush grass. These effigies were then cremated in a solemn ceremony at the Jainagar Ganga Ghat, marking a tragic end for the two young men who aspired to join the army and police forces.
