SC stays NSA detention of activist in Noida

The Supreme Court has stayed an Allahabad High Court order that had quashed the National Security Act detention of a 25-year-old activist. This activist was reportedly involved in a workers' protest in Noida. The Supreme Court also set aside the High Court's direction for a District Magistrate to pay compensation from her salary. The top court's intervention halts the immediate release of the activist and overturns the compensation order.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट के उस आदेश पर रोक लगा दी है, जिसने एक 25 वर्षीय एक्टिविस्ट की NSA के तहत हुई गिरफ्तारी को रद्द कर दिया था। यह एक्टिविस्ट कथित तौर पर नोएडा में मजदूरों के विरोध प्रदर्शन में शामिल था। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने डिस्ट्रिक्ट मजिस्ट्रेट को एक्टिविस्ट को वेतन से मुआवजा देने के हाई कोर्ट के निर्देश को भी खारिज कर दिया।
