Andhra Pradesh Schools Shut Due To Heavy Rain

Schools and Anganwadi centres in six districts of Andhra Pradesh were closed on September 23 due to heavy rainfall and a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal. The affected districts include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam. Disaster-response teams have been deployed in vulnerable areas. The deep depression is expected to cross the coast between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur. Heavy rain is forecast for several districts, with squalls of up to 75 kmph anticipated along the coast.
