Supreme Court Refuses Bengal Electoral Rolls Hearing

The Supreme Court has declined to advance the hearing of appeals concerning West Bengal's special intensive revision of electoral rolls. A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant stated that the matters involved only bye-elections. The court listed the case for October 5, despite a mention that the hearing was initially scheduled for Tuesday but had not appeared on the cause list. Bye-elections in Rejinagar and Nandigram Assembly constituencies are scheduled for October 6.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बंगाल चुनावी रोल्स की सुनवाई से इनकार किया

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पश्चिम बंगाल के चुनावी रोल्स के विशेष गहन संशोधन से संबंधित अपीलों की सुनवाई को आगे बढ़ाने से इनकार कर दिया है। चीफ जस्टिस सूर्य कांत की अगुवाई वाली एक बेंच ने कहा कि मामलों में केवल उपचुनाव शामिल थे। कोर्ट ने मामले को 5 अक्टूबर के लिए सूचीबद्ध किया, इस बात का उल्लेख होने के बावजूद कि सुनवाई मूल रूप से मंगलवार के लिए निर्धारित थी लेकिन कॉज लिस्ट में दिखाई नहीं दी थी। रेजिनगर और नंदीग्राम विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में उपचुनाव 6 अक्टूबर को होने वाले हैं।
