Taj Mahal tomb, ASI confirms, ending Tejo Mahalaya

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) confirmed in 2017 that the Taj Mahal is a 17th-century tomb. The ASI stated that the construction techniques and design elements, such as pietra dura, were not present in pre-medieval times. This scientific evidence should have settled any lingering claims that the Taj Mahal was originally a Hindu temple known as Tejo Mahalaya.
