Centre to Borrow Rs 7.9 Lakh Crore

The Indian government plans to borrow nearly Rs 7.9 lakh crore from securities during the second half of the current fiscal year. This borrowing will reduce the total borrowing for the financial year by over Rs 1.2 lakh crore, despite global economic challenges. This debt management strategy, in consultation with the RBI, includes issuing Rs 15,000 crore in Sovereign Green Bonds. The government had initially proposed borrowing Rs 17.2 lakh crore to fund its fiscal deficit.

केंद्र 7.9 लाख करोड़ रुपये का कर्ज लेगा

सरकार चालू वित्त वर्ष की दूसरी छमाही में करीब ₹7.9 लाख करोड़ रुपये की उधारी लेगी। यह कदम वैश्विक आर्थिक चुनौतियों के बावजूद, पूरे साल की कुल उधारी को ₹1.2 लाख करोड़ से ज़्यादा कम कर देगा। RBI के साथ मिलकर बनाई गई इस योजना में ₹15,000 करोड़ के Sovereign Green Bonds भी शामिल हैं। पहले सरकार ने ₹17.2 लाख करोड़ उधार लेने का प्रस्ताव रखा था।
