A passenger arriving at Miami International Airport from Cuba was arrested after US Customs and Border Protection officers discovered 10 live birds concealed within his underwear. Alberto Hernandez Castillo, 40, a Cuban national, was selected for a secondary inspection after declaring he was not bringing any animals into the US. Officers noticed an unexplained bulge around his waist and pelvic area during the inspection. A pat-down revealed six plastic tubes sewn into his underwear containing the birds, identified as yellow-faced grassquits and blue grosbeaks.
