Punjab Cabinet Approves 35 Special Courts, Boosts Road Construction Budget

The Punjab Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has approved the establishment of 35 new special courts to expedite drug-related cases and improve conviction rates, which have reportedly risen to over 92%. The government also increased the budget for road construction and widening from ₹1,095 crore to ₹1,333.43 crore to meet the target of building 45,000 new roads. Additionally, recruitment for 2,452 posts in the Bhakra Beas Management Board has begun, and a biogas plant will be set up in Derra Bassi.

मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत सिंह मान की अध्यक्षता में पंजाब कैबिनेट ने नशीली दवाओं से संबंधित मामलों में तेजी लाने और सजा की दर में सुधार के लिए 35 नई विशेष अदालतों की स्थापना को मंजूरी दे दी है, जो कथित तौर पर बढ़कर 92% से अधिक हो गई है। सरकार ने 45,000 नई सड़कों के निर्माण के लक्ष्य को पूरा करने के लिए सड़क निर्माण और चौड़ीकरण के बजट को ₹1,095 करोड़ से बढ़ाकर ₹1,333.43 करोड़ कर दिया है। इसके अतिरिक्त, भाखड़ा ब्यास प्रबंधन बोर्ड में 2,452 पदों के लिए भर्ती शुरू हो गई है, और डेरा बस्सी में एक बायोगैस संयंत्र स्थापित किया जाएगा।
