मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (CEC) ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग विपक्षी दल कर रहे हैं। एक रिपोर्ट में चुनाव आयोग के अंदरूनी मतभेदों का दावा किया गया है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, चुनाव आयुक्त संदीप सिंह और विवेक जोशी ने कुछ फैसलों पर आपत्ति जताई थी। चुनाव आयोग ने कहा कि अलग-अलग राय सामान्य है और सभी अंतिम निर्णय सर्वसम्मति से हुए। अगर ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार इस्तीफा नहीं देते हैं, तो विपक्षी दल संसद में उन्हें हटाने का प्रस्ताव लाएंगे। एक पार्टी ने विरोध प्रदर्शन की भी धमकी दी है।
