Maharashtra FDA has filed an FIR against officials from Reliance Consumer Products, Reliance Retail, Blinkit, and Zomato Hyperpure. This action follows the seizure of expired food products worth ₹48 lakh during a crackdown in Thane and Pune districts. The investigation revealed that expired and damaged goods, meant for destruction, were allegedly diverted through disposal agencies and unlicensed yards to retailers. Preliminary findings show discrepancies in disposal records and the sale of repackaged items. The FIR is registered under the Food Safety and Standards Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
