A men's support group, Andy's Man Club, was started in 2016 by Elaine Roberts and Luke Ambler after the suicide death of Elaine's 23-year-old son, Andrew. Beginning with just nine attendees in Halifax, the peer-support charity now operates over 350 groups across England, Scotland, and Wales, alongside online sessions. It collectively supports approximately 7,000 men weekly, offering free, confidential, walk-in sessions. The initiative aims to challenge the stigma around men's mental health and provide a safe space for conversation and connection, addressing the significant need for accessible support.
