Gorakhpur-Faizabad Records Highest 79.32% Turnout in UP MLC Polls; Repoll Recommended at Three Booths

The Gorakhpur-Faizabad Teachers’ constituency saw the highest voter turnout at 79.32% in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council biennial elections. In contrast, the Meerut Graduates’ constituency recorded the lowest turnout at 35.81%. Overall, Teachers’ constituencies consistently reported higher participation than Graduates’ constituencies across the state. Meanwhile, the returning officer for the Agra Teachers’ constituency has recommended repolling at three specific polling stations, with a decision from the Election Commission of India pending.

उत्तर प्रदेश विधान परिषद द्विवार्षिक चुनावों में गोरखपुर-फैजाबाद शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में सबसे ज़्यादा 79.32% मतदान हुआ। वहीं, मेरठ स्नातक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में सबसे कम 35.81% मतदान दर्ज किया गया। पूरे राज्य में, शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में स्नातक निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों की तुलना में लगातार ज़्यादा मतदान हुआ। इस बीच, आगरा शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के रिटर्निंग ऑफिसर ने तीन विशिष्ट मतदान केंद्रों पर दोबारा मतदान की सिफ़ारिश की है, जिसका निर्णय चुनाव आयोग को लेना है।
