Make-Up Guild Secretary Arrested in Extortion Case

Kolkata's Make-Up Guild secretary, Bapi Malakar, was arrested on Thursday in connection with an extortion and sexual assault case. An assistant make-up artist had filed a complaint alleging Malakar and ex-federation president Swarup Biswas demanded money and sexual favours for work. The complainant also stated they threatened her life when she refused. Malakar was apprehended at the guild office and produced in court, with police seeking custody. This development follows Biswas's earlier arrest and subsequent bail.

कोलकाता के मेक-अप गिल्ड के सचिव, बापी मालाकार को गुरुवार को उगाही और यौन उत्पीड़न के मामले में गिरफ्तार किया गया। एक सहायक मेक-अप कलाकार ने शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी कि मालाकार और पूर्व फेडरेशन अध्यक्ष स्वरूप बिस्वास काम के बदले पैसे और यौन संबंध की मांग कर रहे थे। शिकायतकर्ता ने यह भी कहा कि मना करने पर उन्होंने जान से मारने की धमकी दी थी। मालाकार को गिल्ड ऑफिस से पकड़ा गया और कोर्ट में पेश किया गया, पुलिस ने रिमांड मांगी है। यह गिरफ्तारी बिस्वास की पहले की गिरफ्तारी और जमानत के बाद हुई है।
