India's Education Bodies UGC & CBSE Ordered To Ensure Disabled Student Facilities

CIC has directed the UGC and the CBSE to take strict measures for the accessibility and facilities of disabled students in educational institutions. This directive follows an RTI appeal highlighting a lack of essential infrastructure for students with disabilities in Bihar. The CIC recommended that UGC issue guidelines for barrier-free access in universities and CBSE ensure all affiliated schools provide ramps, special toilets, and wheelchairs.

CIC ने UGC और CBSE को निर्देश दिया है कि वे शैक्षणिक संस्थानों में दिव्यांग छात्रों की पहुंच और सुविधाओं के लिए कड़े कदम उठाएं। यह निर्देश बिहार में दिव्यांग छात्रों के लिए आवश्यक बुनियादी ढांचे की कमी को उजागर करने वाली एक RTI अपील के बाद आया है। CIC ने सिफारिश की है कि UGC विश्वविद्यालयों में बाधा-मुक्त पहुंच के लिए दिशानिर्देश जारी करे और CBSE सुनिश्चित करे कि सभी संबद्ध स्कूल रैंप, विशेष शौचालय और व्हीलचेयर प्रदान करें।
